How to adjust the toe of an independent suspension

Independently suspending the vehicle, there are two tie rods for adjusting the toe. When adjusting the toe, it is necessary to adjust the tie rods on both sides. Due to the influence of the use conditions, adjustment methods and maintenance and assembly quality, the adjustment of the left and right steering wheels cannot be completely symmetrical, and there are generally the following situations: 

(1) The left and right steering wheels are symmetrical about the longitudinal axis of the car

?In this case, when the steering wheel rolls forward, the actual sideslip of the two wheels is independently suspended. 

(2) The left and right front wheel swing angles are asymmetric?In the case of asymmetrical left and right front wheel swing angles, when the independent suspension steering wheel rolls forward, the amount of sideslip of the two wheels is different. Due to the construction of the double-plate sideslide gauge, the skateboard must move in or out At the same distance, this causes that the amount of side slip indicated by the meter is not the actual amount of side slip of the steering wheel, but a comprehensive result of the amount of side slip of the left and right steering wheels. Therefore, the phenomenon that the instrument indicates that the amount of side slip is qualified, and the independent suspension of the steering wheel is abnormally worn. 

(3) The left and right steering wheels are biased to one side

?When the left and right steering wheels are biased to one side, the sideslip of the two independently suspended steering wheels varies during the rolling process. The indicator value of the meter is neither the amount of side slip of the left steering wheel nor the amount of side slip of the right steering wheel, but the combined side slip value of the two steering wheels. A small amount of side slip may also occur, but the steering wheel is abnormally worn. The lateral forces of the surfaces are equal and opposite.
